KB Design creates well-considered custom homes

Keith Baker of award-winning architecture firm KB Design said a quote he read many years ago--"we create our dwellings and then they create us"--inspired him to design well-considered homes. "Designing a house is one thing, but taking care to consider the quality of the aesthetic, the quality of the space, and the way the house is situated make a big difference,” said Baker.

KB Design is based in Victoria, BC, Canada and specializes in custom new homes, renovations, and additions. The firm has won several awards, including the national 2008 Canadian Homebuilders' Association SAM Award for best new single-detached home over 4,000 square feet. Baker's work has also been featured in magazines including Homes & Living, Canadian Architecture & Design, and Best Home Western Canada.

The practice, which uses Vectorworks to create all working drawings, is driven by reinvention. Baker noted that the differences in each project keep the work interesting. "No two people are the same, and no two houses are the same," he said.

We're impressed by these beautiful, well-considered homes, and we look forward to seeing more from KB Design in the future!
