The buildingSMART International Implementation Support Group (ISG) meeting will be held this week in Washington, D.C. ISG meetings are held twice a year to discuss the use of Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) for the exchange and sharing of Building Information Models (BIM) among different software products.

Jeffrey Ouellette, BIM Specialist at Nemetschek Vectorworks

Nemetschek Vectorworks’ BIM specialist Jeffrey Ouellette, Assoc. AIA, serves as deputy chair of ISG, a position to which he was appointed last fall by buildingSMART’s International Technical Management committee. “These meetings are an essential part of buildingSMART’s efforts to improve the software marketplace implementation of IFC, which is essential to the interoperability and collaboration that openBIM affords,” said Ouellette. “The members of the group represent a diverse range of perspectives, and we look forward to lively, productive discussions. I’d also like to thank Deke Smith for allowing us to hold the meeting at the National Institute of Building Sciences’ office.”

The meeting will be held Monday and Tuesday, March 5 and 6, at the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS). Please see the full press release for more information.
