The Backstage Centre uses Vectorworks software to train production and lighting design students

If you're seeking a "Lights, Camera, Action!" type of career, then The Backstage Centre is a great place to start. London's newest production rehearsal and training facility for theatre, music, and live events teaches the whole process to production and lighting design students from around the UK. And Vectorworks software is part of the course work.

There are no training standards in the UK to help people learn the skills they need in the entertainment industry or help people transfer their skills from one site to the other. Everyone in this industry is able to use these facilities free of charge, so they get the correct training and have a central log of skills they can transfer from venue to venue.

The training program allows students to develop skills in theatre and live event ground-plans drafting, lighting design, and scenery construction. "We see Vectorworks as part of the forward looking changes that are rapidly shifting lighting and scenery environment design processes into a more automated and digitized format," explains Robin Auld, Director of Operations.
