The Vectorworks crew attended the Rock in Rio: Lisbon music festival last summer. Partnering with Production Resource Group (PRG) to provide Vision previsualization services to the designers lighting up the event’s five nights of performances, we also took time to document the construction of the fest’s stages, talk with the bands’ lighting designers, and see the power of Vectorworks Spotlight and Vision software in action.

The design and construction of the SwissFEL particle acceleratory facility in the forests of Switzerland presented architects and civil engineers with unique challenges. But equipped with Vectorworks software's BIM capabilities, architects at Itten+Brechbühl AG developed a model to account for the meticulous level of detail required to design a facility that houses a state-of-the-art free electron laser while also respecting the lush habitats of the surrounding landscape.

Each year at the AIA National Convention, a select number of architects who are making outstanding contributions to the industry through design excellence, furthering the field of architectural education, or advancing the profession are elevated as Fellows of the American Institute of Architects. It’s a tremendous honor that has been bestowed on a select few AIA members, including Janis Kent, architect, CASp. We recently sat down with Kent to learn more about what makes her stand out in her field and pick up a few tips on accessibility planning. Here's what we learned:
