More people should be so lucky as to spend a day with the Exleys, the spirited husband and wife team behind Architecture Is Fun. We recently met up with Peter, FAIA, and Sharon who run their architecture and design firm in Chicago, creating spaces for children of all ages that are distinguished by beauty, art, and form. "The Boxtrolls" Hits US Theatres with Sets Designed with Vectorworks Software

When a community of quirky, mischievous creatures hits the big screen in the nationwide US opening of The Boxtrolls this weekend, you’ll have Oregon-based LAIKA to thank. Known for its Academy Award-nominated films ParaNorman and Coraline, the animation studio has created a stop-motion, hand-drawn, and computer-generated movie in which young people discover who they are and what they want to be, learning that the things that define us most are the choices we make and the people we touch. Diego Bermudez Named 2014 Richard Diehl Award Winner

Last week, we recognized 15 students as 2014 Vectorworks Design Scholars and revealed that a project by Diego Bermudez, a landscape design graduate student from the University of Pennsylvania, was the top entry. Bermudez won the Richard Diehl Award, impressing judges with his creative solution to a real-world problem. Read More

15 Students From Around the World Win 2014 Vectorworks Design Scholarships

The Vectorworks Design Scholarship program awarded more than $50,000 in scholarships today to promising design students around the world who impressed judges with their imagination and creativity. Fifteen students from eight countries will receive $3,000 to support their studies. Their schools will also receive Vectorworks software licenses and training. Read More

Video: The Design Büro Makes the Switch to BIM

Neil Marshall's role as a director and Chartered Architectural Technologist at The Design Büro in the UK covers everything from securing future work to delivering multimillion-pound schemes within the healthcare sector. One of his biggest roles over the past few years, however, has been overseeing the integration of BIM into the daily activities of the practice. Marshall believes that adopting BIM workflows at the start of the design phase inspires building users to engage with the design process and aids in the delivery of a better built environment.
