Earlier this month, 600+ Vectorworks users from 18 countries met in sunny Arizona for three days of indispensable workshops, inspired design, and improved connections. Attendees had access to 90 hours of training, including AIA and ASLA CEU credits.
Over the years our Design Summit keynote speakers have had one fundamental item in common: they’ve left the hundreds of attendees inspired. This year, the 2018 Vectorworks Design Summit keynote speakers, Architect Antoine Predock and our CEO Dr. Biplab Sarkar, will undoubtedly do the same.
Along with fellow leaders in the entertainment industry, MA Lighting for its lighting control solutions and Robe lighting for its high-quality moving lights, we are deIighted to announce a new development that will change the way lighting designers, fixture manufacturers, console manufacturers, and visualizers will work together. Our companies have joined forces to develop a new data format, named the General Device Type Format (GDTF), which creates a unified definition for the exchange of device data between consoles, CAD, and previsualization software.

Our Japanese distributor, A&A Co. Ltd., recently hosted an event to introduce Vectorworks 2018 to designers in Japan. Vectorworks Live was held on December 1 in Tokyo. The event had 360 people in attendance, and an additional 1,500 tuned in to the live stream through Facebook Live and YouTube Live.
For our Spanish speakers, the wait is over. Vectorworks 2018 is now available in Spanish, which includes Vectorworks Architect, Landmark, Spotlight, Designer, and Fundamentals. This year, we’ve added Braceworks, a structural load analysis add-on module for designers and riggers working on temporary structures. Our Spanish version follows the English version, released in September. In addition to English and Spanish, the following languages will also be offered by spring of 2018: Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Japanese, Polish, Italian, Norwegian, and Portuguese.

No more teasing, it’s finally here. Today, we released the English-version of Vectorworks 2018 software. Included in the release are Vectorworks Architect, Landmark, Spotlight, Designer, and Fundamentals, as well as our previsualization software, Vision. This year we’ve also introduced, Braceworks, an entertainment rigging analysis add-on module targeted to design, production, and rigging professionals working on temporary entertainment structures.

Our extended family keeps growing. As part of our belief in helping designers around the world tackle projects across different industries, we’re teaming up with First Star Computer as our new United Arab Emirates (UAE) distributor for Vectorworks software. With the partnership, First Star Computer adds BIM product Vectorworks Architect to its portfolio, along with the rest of the Vectorworks product line, including Landmark, Spotlight, Designer, Fundamentals, and Vision.
