No more teasing, it’s finally here. Today, we released the English-version of Vectorworks 2018 software. Included in the release are Vectorworks Architect, Landmark, Spotlight, Designer, and Fundamentals, as well as our previsualization software, Vision. This year we’ve also introduced, Braceworks, an entertainment rigging analysis add-on module targeted to design, production, and rigging professionals working on temporary entertainment structures. A 100-Year-Old Battle Brought Forward in Time with Vectorworks

A monumental milestone was celebrated at the Canadian National Vimy Memorial in France this spring. On April 9, 2017, a large commemoration was held in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Vimy Ridge battle at the memorial and attended by heads of state and British royalty. The battle of Vimy Ridge was a military engagement fought primarily as part of the Battle of Arras, in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region of France, during the First World War. Read More

For Scott Barnes, lighting console programmer and owner of i-light design, the movie “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial” is more than a beloved classic from the 80s — it was the catalyst that led to an illustrious career designing 2D plots and 3D models of movie sets. “After I saw ‘ET’ at 10 years old, I realized how fascinated I was with motion pictures,” said Barnes. “I started following filmmakers, got an 8-millimeter movie camera, and began experimenting with filmmaking. Lighting logically followed, and I got my first job offer as a tech guy for a movie with George C. Scott before graduating high school.” Read More
