Last week we hosted our third annual Vectorworks Design Summit in Baltimore, MD. During the event, we got to meet and learn from inspiring designers, as well as showcase new Vectorworks 2018 features. If you couldn’t make it this year, here’s a run-down of what you missed:
Our own CEO Dr. Biplab Sarkar took to the stage Tuesday morning to discuss the future of Vectorworks software. He also invited multiple designers, who use Vectorworks in their day-to-day design process, to come on stage and share their stories.
On Wednesday morning, Brad Cloepfil, founding principal of Allied Works Architecture spoke on the art of making and how Vectorworks plays a role in his design firm, supported by examples from many of his real-world projects, such as the Clyfford Still Museum.

Both Tuesday and Wednesday were packed with multiple sessions each morning and afternoon, offering a cumulative 75 hours of training. From rendering and project sharing tips to harnessing the force of IFC, there were options for everyone to learn something new, no matter their industry.

Food and Fun
On Monday, we kicked off the event with an Exhibitor Happy Hour, complete with food, fun, and interactive stations to explore new technologies. We also raffled off Orioles tickets to a game taking place that evening at Camden Yards.
Then on Tuesday after a day of inspiring sessions, we took a few hours to celebrate at our Customer Appreciation Party, with food and activities inspired by the different neighborhoods of Baltimore. As attendees ate their way through foods from various parts of the city, they could play bocce ball, cornhole, or dance to the sound of dueling pianos, all while meeting and chatting with designers in their field.

Pins and Scavenger Hunts
Of course, not all the fun happened after hours. Attendees could also participate in our photo scavenger hunt “Click Game” on the Vectorworks Design Summit app to win swag. And many people took time between sessions to hunt down the pins we created for the event lanyards.

Overall, we had an amazing time in Baltimore, exploring new ideas and technologies with designers from around the world, as well as showing off the new features of Vectorworks 2018. Thank you to all who attended, and we hope to see you next time. For those of you who missed the event, you can still watch the keynote speeches on our Facebook page.
