We never thought we'd be wowed by tent design, but one company in New Zealand has caught our attention with their unique, innovative designs.

Based in New Zealand and family owned, Baytex has built an international reputation for their advanced design capabilities, responsiveness, and product quality. Their core specialty is the manufacture of a wide range of commercial, event and corporate tents and marquees for rental and event marketers. Baytex has also produced a number of award-winning, large circus and performing tents up to 50 metres in diameter for clients in Australia and Asia.

"For us, much of our current design work would not be possible without the 3D capabilities of Vectorworks," explains Spencer Tankard, Managing Director at Baytex. "Virtually all our design work originates as a full 3D model within which all of the fabric element, the structural framework and mechanical componentry is developed, often resulting in a single file containing several hundred drawings. In the case of the fabric elements, the 3D membrane pieces resolve down to fully detailed 2D pattern pieces for marking and cutting on our 3m x 18m fabric plotter."

Thanks to Spencer and all the folks at Baytex for inspiring us with your story. We look forward to many more of your designs in the future!
