The American Society of Landscape Architects has announced the winners of this year's 2010 Professional Awards. Out of 618 entries from 20 countries around the world, 49 were chosen for recognition. The awards ceremony will take place September 13 during the ASLA Annual Meeting and EXPO in Washington, D.C.
The Office of James Burnett will receive an Honor Award in the General Design category for The Brochstein Pavilion at Rice University in Houston, Texas. The team was challenged to create a space that would transform the university's Central Quadrangle as the "intellectual crossroads of the campus," while responding to the constraints of the space due to existing buildings and trees.
