This year the winning project was designed by Vectorworks firm goedefroo + goedefroo architecten who designed an office building consisting of a production hall and an office block.

Commissioned by Callens & EMK, the firm choose a strategic location along the busy E17 between Kortrijk and Ghent with a highly visible location along the highway. In addition, they created a design that thoroughly integrates sustainable energy solutions. Goedefroo + goedefroo architects also considered important issues related to the traffic noise and the degree of anonymity of the user towards the passer. This resulted in a building that had an attitude of protection, privacy and intimacy. The office area was encased in a stainless steel skin, as if it were opened through gills, where oxygen was ''necessary'' to give to its users.

The offices were made up of a concrete structure consisting of three stories. These floors are interconnected through open spaces which serve as informal meeting places.

We congratulate goedefroo + goedefroo architecten on their truly unique and insightful design.
