Last month Nemetschekians Biplab Sarkar and Robert Anderson had the opportunity to visit Auer+Weber+Assoziierte, a well known German architectural firm and Vectorworks user in Munich.

In 2008 they won the competition to design a large sports and leisure centre in Courchevel and had some specific questions about workflows for this ambitious project. The design was derived from the special situation in a valley of the French Alps, and the unique shape is a complex freeform roof shell with skylights--which has been an intricate challenge for the architects and structural engineers.

The architects are currently working on the construction phase of the project. They are using the sophisticated 2D and 3D functionality of Vectorworks for the detailed drawings and building calculations. "The architects really appreciated the visit, and it was very impressive to see the 3D models and files and how the architectural team manages this very complex project," explains Andreas Thierer, marketing director of ComputerWorks Germany who also took part in the meeting.

We thank Auer+Weber+Assoziierte for sharing this amazing design with us. We can't wait to see the finished project!
