Nemetschek Vectorworks BIM experts to present at USC School of Architecture events in July

Sunny Los Angeles will host two events this month at which Building Information Modeling (BIM) experts from Nemetschek Vectorworks, Inc. will be speaking.

First up is Practical BIM: The Sixth Annual USC BIM Symposium, where Architect Product Specialists Jeffrey W. Ouellette, Assoc. AIA, and Jeff Server, Assoc. AIA, ASLA, LEED AP, will present “Open BIM: Real Interoperability, Practical Collaboration" on Friday, July 13, 2012 at the University of Southern California’s (USC) School of Architecture. Ouellette and Server's presentation offers insight into Open BIM, an initiative of buildingSMART and several leading software vendors using the open buildingSMART Data Model that takes a universal approach to the collaborative design, realization, and operation of buildings based on open standards and workflows.

The next day, Ouellette presents at BIM and Process Change: Tested Techniques and New Innovations, a USC School of Architecture Executive Education Summer Session, on “Digital Connections: Better Designs, Better Buildings, and Better Practices with Better BIM Interoperability?” Ouellette’s session, scheduled for 4:15 to 5:00 p.m. PDT on Saturday, July 14, reviews the open standards technology available for BIM and how it is being applied worldwide by designers, project teams, and owners to elicit the greatest value from the process of design, construction, and management using modern digital technologies.
