Congratulations to team KIV (Keio University Ikeda labo with Vectorworks) who won the BIM Challenge Award at the Build Live Chiba event in Japan.

The team was made up of students in the Ikeda laboratory at Keio University, and they used Vectorworks software, SimTread, and ThermoRender to complete their design.

"This virtual BIM competition gave us an opportunity to realize the power, flexibility, and usability of Vectorworks software," explains Kazutaka Satoh of A&A Co., LTD. "The members of KIV had never done BIM before, but they completed BIM modeling after attending preliminarily lectures over a couple of days. They got feedback from simulations such as SimTread and ThermoRender, and they reflected the results into their architectural design. At the end of this competition they submitted an IFC file exported by the Vectorworks program."
