Cearnal Andrulaitis has an unparalleled record of success focused on architectural and interior design on Santa Barbara's South Coast. But perhaps more unique is how efficiently this firm uses Vectorworks Architect software and a BIM workflow to achieve innovative design solutions.

"When we only worked in 2D, it was tedious to complete all our elevations and sections while showing multiple window sizes and heights correctly," says Joe Andrulaitis, AIA, LEED BD+C, a partner at the 11-person firm. "When designing with a BIM workflow, however, this tedium disappears and saves us a tremendous amount of time."

The profile also highlights several projects, including the prominent Santa Barbara Bank & Trust building, and Alma del Pueblo, a large Mission-style building with Colonial Revival features that was designed to achieve a LEED for Homes Platinium designation. Once completed, Alma del Pueblo will include 37 residential units and stores atop podium parking, as well as courtyards, a club room, and a rooftop garden.

The profile concludes with a summary of Bella Riviera, one of Cearnal Andrulaitis' largest BIM projects to date. Nearing completion, the project involved the construction of 115 townhomes on a six-acre, terraced site with grand ocean views, native craftsman architecture, as well as the dramatic whites and Terra-cotta hues of Spanish colonial design. We hope you enjoy getting to know the people and projects of Cearnal Andrulaitis as much as we have!
