Luis Ruiz, one of our architectural industry specialists, traveled to Panama and Costa Rica in July for a series of BIM events, where he gave presentations about Open BIM to more than 700 students, architects, and building professionals.
The series included several stops at universities, including Universidad de Panama, Colegio Técnico Don Bosco, Universidad Hispanoamericana, Universidad de Costa Rica, and Universidad Latina. Meetings and presentations were also held at some local “Coffee & Learn” venues.

Ruiz also spoke about Open BIM at the 2013 Congreso de Ingeniería y Arquitectura: Innovación+ Integración=Desarrollo conference in Costa Rica.
“I was impressed with the high level of design by these young students and the eagerness of learning the future of architecture under an Open BIM umbrella,” said Ruiz.
The events were organized by Mario Masis of Desarrollo Conteporáneo, a regional Vectorworks dealer connected to Nemetschek Vectorworks through our South American distributor, CAD Technology.
