Nemetschek Vectorworks' Jeffrey Ouellette Speaks at Second China BIM Forum

Last month, one of our architect product specialists, Jeffrey Ouellette, was invited by the China Institute of Building Standard Design & Research to speak at the Second China BIM Forum and the Foundation Ceremony of buildingSMART China in Beijing. Ouellette serves as deputy chair of the buildingSMART International Implementation Support Group, and at this event he gave a presentation on the content and development of the National BIM Standard – U.S.™.

The conference was supported by the China Survey and Design Association, Standards Design Branch; China Real Estate Research Residential Facilities Committee; and China Energy Conservation Association, Architectural Shading and Professional Committee. Sponsors included Huasiwei Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing; and Beijing Jianyi Investment Development (Group) Co., Ltd.

Attendees included members of buildingSMART China, a compilation team representing national BIM standards from around the world, real estate companies, construction companies, design firms, and research and education organizations. In addition to Ouellette's presentation, session topics included "Chinese BIM Standards," "BIM Standards in Japan," "The Role of buildingSMART UK," and "Lifecycle Application of BIM Technology."
