Service Pack 3 Now Available for Vectorworks 2022

This year’s third service pack update introduces some exciting functionality to Vectorworks 2022 and Vectorworks Cloud Services.

The updates focus on re-engineering of web viewing and the Nomad app, new storage integrations with the Vectorworks Cloud, updates to Datasmith file exchange for a direct link to Twinmotion, and support for .gITF within the MVR export from Vectorworks Spotlight.

The service pack is available as a downloadable update for all U.S. English-based versions of Vectorworks 2022. Significant Re-Engineering Provides a Better Experience on Cloud and Mobile Platforms

Vectorworks Nomad and the web view feature in Service Pack 3 employ the Unity platform for some game-changing new functionality. This enables a consistent interface and access to all the same features whether using Nomad's 3D model viewer or exporting a web link.

Developer’s Comment:

This has allowed us to implement critical improvements that deliver powerful 3D and AR viewers through Nomad and enhanced 3D model viewing and navigation through Vectorworks’ web view. We’re excited to bring these updates to you and provide you with amazing performance boosts for large, complex design models for better presentations and interactive experiences.

Additional Cloud Services updates include:

  • Key enhancements to Vectorworks Cloud Services include a new storage integration with OneDrive, improved integrations with Google Drive, and a direct connection from the Nomad mobile app to the iOS Files app. You can now access and process files directly from your preferred cloud storage solution, making it easier to work with existing file structures.
  • Region-specific cloud storage will improve Cloud sync speeds, file upload speeds, and download speeds. This also enables EU-based customers to comply with GDPR data residency requirements.
  • Redshift render styles are now available when processing file renderings in the Vectorworks Cloud.
  • The latest LIDAR technology in iOS devices can now be used to scan and produce point clouds from your mobile devices.

Simplified Direct Link with Twinmotion for Time Savings in Syncing Model Changes

Until this service pack release, syncing changes to the Vectorworks model with the Twinmotion render didn't happen in real time. This update to the Datasmith Direct Link tool in Vectorworks means you can now immediately send model changes to Twinmotion in real time with the Auto Sync option.

Additionally, the Datasmith export now supports data and light information in the Unreal Engine editor for more data-rich and detailed models.

Vectorworks customers can get a FREE Twinmotion license through March 31, 2022. See this offer and others by visiting the Vectorworks customer portal.

Stay on the Cutting Edge of Entertainment Project Workflows with .gITF Support

Supporting the latest .gITF/.glb file format modernizes MVR workflows and allows you to meet DIN Spec 15800:2022 standards.

The update also broadens the adoption of the MVR file format for a wider opportunity for collaboration and easy project information exchange.

Service Pack 3 also includes several updates to entertainment workflows:

  • Workflow enhancements for ConnectCAD
  • Additional quality fixes for Vectorworks Spotlight
  • Support for PosiStageNet (PSN) in Vision
