In recent years, digital design has seen a transformation with the implementation of BIM, or Building Information Modeling, the concept that data be attached to its corresponding digital model. The idea here is to ease communication between project partners by having one point-of-reference, one model that can be used through all design phases — from sketching to construction.
Landscape design professionals, there are a variety of sessions planned just for you to attend and participate in at this year’s Vectorworks Design Summit. Take a look at some of the landscape-specific programming we have scheduled, and get ready to be inspired!

BIM Unlimited won the BEST USE OF BIM FOR SUSTAINABILITY OR CONSTRUCTABILITY award at the Build Earth Live event last week. This virtual, global design competition revolved around a site location in New York City. Like previous competitions such as Build London, Sydney, and Qatar, teams had just 48 hours to publish their proposals to Asite's Adoddle cloud-based collaboration platform.

Attendees at BIM Show Live 2013 in London learned about the first-ever significant energy modeling and analysis solution for a major architectural BIM program to use the IFC file format. Martyn Horne, business development manager for Computers Unlimited, gave the Tech Forum presentation last week on behalf of Nemetschek Vectorworks, Inc. in association with Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES).
Several members of the Nemetschek Vectorworks team traveled across the pond in October to participate in some exciting events with our UK distributor, Computers Unlimited.
