Residential Architect magazine recently recognized ten projects for design excellence. Winning in the "custom / 3,000 square feet or less" category was Mell Lawrence Architects, as they impressed the judges with their design of a Texas guesthouse. "It has heart," said one judge. "It's quirky--that's what I like about it."
