Cue the fog machines, lighting, and jumbo screens. There’s no tradeshow like the Live Design International Show (LDI) — with around 14,000 attendees in the Las Vegas Convention center, the show felt like a rock concert. The leading conference for live design professionals from all around the globe, LDI hosts a community working in a wide range of international live and broadcast venues — festivals, corporate events, theatre, concerts, clubs, theme parks, architainment, and houses of worship.

Every year, our team heads to the desert to host classes and presentations that offer tips and tricks for Vectorworks Spotlight, Vision, Braceworks, and ConnectCAD — our industry standard solutions for entertainment design, previsualization, rigging analysis, and signal flow documentation. Additionally, our customers can get one-on-one access to our industry experts at the booth, where they can see demos of our latest features or ask questions.

This year, conversations continued around the obvious progress being made with the adoption of GDTF, or General Device Type Format, among industry manufacturers. GDTF is the entertainment industry’s unified data exchange file format. Additionally, the booth saw buzz surrounding our launch of ConnectCAD 2020, the Spotlight and Designer add-on that allows AV system designers to lay out signal flows in an easy-to-read format.
